Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

Last week, we had a great time celebrating Catholic Schools Week. Students honored our country by wearing red, white and blue and making Valentine cards for our troops. We had two exciting assemblies for the students on water and Bikers Against Child Abuse. They also were excited to talk about college and higher education as we had College Day on campus. Students enjoyed their field trip to Bishop Diego High School for Mass and being with all of the other Catholic school students in Santa Barbara. We cheered on the 2nd and 4th graders who have been improving their bike skills. Our school community gathered for our family lunch on the field and we had many new families attend our Open House! PHEW! That was a very busy week!

As we celebrated Catholic schools, it’s important for everyone to know the return on the investment that you are making by sending your children to our school. 99% of students that attend a Catholic high school will graduate. That number compares to only 78.2% in public schools. 85.7% of students that graduate from a Catholic school will attend college versus 39.5% for public schools. The numbers speak for themselves and show that we are preparing our students not only for college, but also for their future careers.

Our 29th annual auction is right around the corner, so get ready to do the salsa for the “Havana Nights.” The auction committee has been working diligently to prepare for this event. Please remember to check the auction news in the Tuesday Folder to purchase your tickets as well as make your family donation.   The Golden Ticket is now available! For the past three years, we have sold $25 raffle tickets for a grand prize raffle award of one year’s tuition paid. Tickets are available in the school office -- get yours today! The auction is on Saturday, February 25th at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort. Our school auction is always a fun-filled evening.
