Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

As we continue through the first weeks of school, many of our wonderful programs gradually get started. Last week, our fifth graders attended the Wilderness Youth Program. They go on bi-weekly adventures to the great outdoors and have experiences related to their science standards and much more. After their first wilderness adventure, students arrived back on campus and I asked what they learned. Not skipping a beat, a student replied, “Common sense!” Well, a little bit of that goes a long way!

Last Thursday, we kicked off our Annual Fund. Last year, we brought in a little over $46,000 throughout the year. As discussed at Back to School Night, our goal for the next three weeks is to raise $42,000. Remember that the actual cost of tuition per child is $6,970 and every child at St. Raphael School is subsidized. Please help us meet our goal and donate to the Annual Fund. You can bring your check to the school office or even donate online at https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/StRaphaelSchool/AnnualFund2017.html.   Let’s see how quickly we can reach not only our goal, but also 100% participation!

This Saturday, we have our first Movie Night on the field. Please join us as we watch The Peanuts Movie. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie will start at 7:15 pm. Admission is $5 per person and there will also be food to purchase ($5 for a hotdog or bratwurst with salad, fruit and a drink).

Our first school Mass is on Thursday, September 21st at 10:00 am. Monsignor Jon will welcome the entire school community to another wonderful school year and also give a special blessing to our Student Council. Please mark your calendars to join us as we celebrate!

The St. Raphael Festival is just two weeks away. We are looking for volunteers to work some of the booths and participate in this wonderful event. The festival is on Sunday, September 24th from Noon – 5:00 pm. We will need cakes for the cakewalk and help for all of the fun games! This will count toward your volunteer hours. You can sign up to volunteer online atwww.SignUpGenius.com/go/4090B4BA5AB29A75-straphael4

St. Raphael, of the glorious seven who stand before the throne of Him who lives and reigns, Angel of health, the Lord has filled your hand with balm from heaven to soothe or cure our pains. Heal or cure the victim of disease and guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.   Amen.

St. Raphael, Pray for Us!
