Dear St. Raphael School Families,

Our week has begun with the radiant glow of "Gaudete Sunday," a Latin term that translates to "rejoice." In keeping with this spirit, we continue to kindle the candles of hope and love, and this week, we joyfully introduce the pink candle of joy. The profound sense of joy we embrace stems from the words of Saint Paul, reminding us that "The Lord is near." As we approach the culmination of Advent, the fulfillment of prophecy in the arrival of the long-awaited Messiah, our hearts resonate with joy.

The imminent celebration of Christmas serves as a poignant reminder that the Lord is with us even in the present moment. Jesus, the bringer of sight to the blind and life to the dead, reigns among us through our acts of love and generosity. Let us not grow weary but steadfastly rejoice, for the Lord is close at hand! Our hearts shall indeed rejoice in the anticipation of the birth of our Savior.

Mark your calendars for our annual school Christmas program on Wednesday, December 20th, at 1:30 pm in the church. This year's enchanting performance, titled "Special Delivery: Wrapped in the Father's Love!" promises to be a heartwarming celebration. Anticipate unique songs that will resonate in your hearts long after the event. Come, join us, and prepare your hearts for the joyous birth of our Lord.

As a gentle reminder, Christmas vacation begins at noon on Thursday! May this time be filled with the blessings of Advent and the joy of Christmas. Let us collectively hold onto the true meaning of Christmas, remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season!

School resumes on January 8. Wishing you a blessed Christmas vacation, and may the Christmas season continue to unfold its grace until January with the Baptism of our Lord.

Christmas Prayer for Present Opening Time:
Lord Jesus, Wise men traveled for miles to bring You the first Christmas presents. So may we, too, remember with thankful hearts the love that comes with each present we open. We also thank You for the amazing love You have for each of us, and we thank You for the many gifts that You give us. Amen
