Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends, 

Let's get ready for “Wanted” this Saturday at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum. Doors open at 5:00 pm and following the event, there will be dancing! We are looking forward to the beautiful setting, and delicious catered food and wine provided by Sunstone! Please note that a portion of the event is outside, so please dress warmly! Please sell those raffle tickets until Friday, and tickets will also be on sale at the event. 

This Wednesday, we will enter the beautiful Lenten season on Ash Wednesday with a school Mass. Please join us at 10:45 am for Mass. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lent season. It is a season of alms giving, penance, reflection, and fasting, which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday through which we attain redemption. You can sign up for Bishop Barron’s Lenten Reflections here.

We also begin our tradition of Stations of the Cross as a school family. Please join us on Friday at 1:15 pm in our church as we walk together with Christ on his journey to Calvary. The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as we move from station to station. At each station, we recall and meditate on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then we move to the next station until all 14 stations are complete.

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is March 13-20. The Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance applications are now available. You can download the forms from the e-newsletter or pick up a copy in the office. Applications are due no later than March 22^nd. Late applications will not be accepted.

February 25: School Auction

February 27: TK and K Evaluation Day

March 3: Stations of the Cross at 1:15 pm
