Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,
We celebrated the commencement and were wowed by the accolades they received. As a group, the graduates earned over $93,000 in scholarships for high school! Congratulations, Class of 2023!
We have entered Ordinary Time in the Catholic Church; it is important to reflect on the significance of this season. Ordinary Time does not refer to a time without any special events or holidays, but rather a time outside of the primary liturgical seasons such as Advent, Lent, and Easter. This is a time for growth and deepening our relationship with God through regular worship and prayer. While we transition into summer vacation after a wonderful school year, we can use this time to reflect on our relationship with God and continue strengthening our faith. Summer vacation also provides us with an opportunity to re-center ourselves and reconnect with our spiritual lives without the stress and demands of daily school routines. Despite the name, this time in the Catholic Church should be seen as extraordinary for the potential growth and reflection it can bring to our spiritual lives.
June 9 is our last day of school and we will celebrate with Mass at 10:30 am in the church followed by an awards assembly for grades 4-7. We welcome all parents to attend our Mass and assembly! It’s a great way to end the school year together as community! All students are dismissed at noon.
We wish all of you a safe and blessed summer vacation, filled with happy memories. Please remember that your Mathletics, Reading Eggs and Reading A-Z subscriptions are active during the summer. Students should try to spend time each day doing something academic to ensure that they are not only retaining what they learned this year, but also growing in both English Language Arts and Mathematics.
Important Dates:
May 29: No School for Memorial Day
June 1: Graduation Mass at 10:00 am
June 9: Last Day of School. School Mass at 10:30 am. Noon Dismissal.
