Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,
Oh, what a Jog-a-Thon this year! We want to thank our sponsors and donors for making our annual Jog-a-Thon one of the most successful! If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to submit your Jog-a-Thon money by Friday, May 19th.
Last Thursday, we crowned Our Blessed Mother during our May Crowning Mass. The queen symbol was attributed to Mary because she was a perfect follower of Christ, who is the absolute “crown” of creation. She is the Mother of the Son of God, who is the King of Salvation. Elizabeth greeted the Blessed Virgin, pregnant with Jesus, as “the mother of my Lord” (Luke 1:41-43). Mary consented to God’s plan; she journeyed on the pilgrimage of faith; she listened to God’s Word and kept it in her heart; she remained steadfastly in close union with her Son, all the way to the foot of the Cross; she persevered in prayer with the Church. Thus, in a way she won the “crown of righteousness” (II Timothy 4:8), the “crown of life” (James 1:12; Revelation 2:10), the “crown of glory” (I Peter 5:4) that is promised to those who follow Christ. Therefore, our May Crowning Mass is such an important day for our school. A very special thank you to Monsignor Jon for celebrating this day with us.
We will have our annual chalk festival, iRaphael, on Friday, May 19 at 1:30 on the quad. If you are still in need of volunteer hours, please plan on staying at school after drop-off time.

Ms. Michelle Limb, Principal
