Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,
Last Friday, we held our annual iRaphael chalk festival. Please take a few moments to look at the amazing and impressive creations that our students did on the quad! Enjoy the masterpieces!
The month of May is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. As is our tradition during the month of May, students will take home a statue of Mary to pray the rosary as a family, we celebrate May Crowning, and our 2nd graders receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. In May of 2002, Saint John Paul II said, "Today we begin the month dedicated to Our Lady, a favorite of popular devotion. In accord with a long-standing tradition of devotion, parishes and families continue to make the month of May a 'Marian' month, celebrating it with many devout liturgical, catechetical and pastoral initiatives." The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of the Church, and therefore the example, as well as the guide and inspiration of everyone who, in and throughout the Church, seeks to be the servant of God and man, and the obedient agent of the promptings of the Holy Spirit. May is a special month for us!
It’s college acceptance time for many of our alumni. As I run into families in town, it’s always fun to learn where our students are accepted, currently attending college, or have graduated. We are excited to share that St. Raphael School alumni were accepted into the following colleges and universities: University of Washington, Oregon State, University of Hawaii, University of San Diego, San Diego State, UCSB, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Cal Poly, University of San Francisco, Reed College, Lewis and Clark, University of Puget Sound, University of Oregon, Sacramento State, UC Santa Cruz, University of Wyoming, Montana State, Colorado State, University of Montana, and University of Utah!
