Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,
Welcome to Catholic Schools Week! It’s a fun time to celebrate our students, teachers, pastors, and parents! We have fun activities all week long for our school. We hope everyone enjoys. Please see the schedule in the Tuesday folder as well as in the e-newsletter! Please enjoy this video thanking you, parents, for sending your children to a Catholic school.
This past August, Dr. Tellez informed me that this would be his last year at St. Raphael School as he wants to pursue his desire to become a principal or vice-principal after he completes his Administrative Credential. After a six month search, I am ecstatic to announce that Mrs. Betsy Howting will be our next 7th grader teacher! Mrs. Howting comes to us with over 28 years of teaching experience, and mostly in Catholic Schools. She is a graduate from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and holds a Masters of Education from Georgia State University. She has previously taught junior high for both public and Catholic schools. Mrs. Howting’s husband and daughter have already relocated to Santa Barbara and she looks forward to joining them shortly. Dr. Tellez will finish out the school year and we will welcome Mrs. Howting in August!
Our annual auction is right around the corner, so get ready for “A Night in Santa Barbara.” We are excited for the new venue, The Santa Barbara Historical Museum. The auction committee has been working diligently to prepare for this event. Please remember to check the auction news in the Tuesday Folder to purchase your tickets as well as make your family donation.

A Prayer for Our School
God, our Father and Creator, be with us in our school. Help us to treasure Your gift of life and treat one another with care.
Let us always remember that we are all created in Your image. Come, Lord Jesus, and be with us in our school. Guide our teachers, guide our parents, and lead our students to recognize You in all people. Come, Holy Spirit, and be with us in our school. Give us a vision for the future, and the determination for shaping a faith-filled future.
