Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

This Sunday we celebrated the Fourth Sunday of Lent, commonly called “Laetare Sunday.” It is a day when the Church rejoices that Easter is approaching and seems to tell us to “keep going!” Lent is almost over! Jesus will rise from the dead.” This Sunday, when Catholics went to Mass, you probably noticed a change in the vestment color. It is also one of only two days in the year when the priest has the option of wearing pink – or rose as many priests would say. “Laetare” is the Latin word for “Rejoice.” Traditionally, the Fourth Sunday of Lent was seen as a day to modestly celebrate and lessen the penances the faithful had been keeping.  So, let’s take time this entire week to rejoice!

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year begins today and our current families will have a full week to register from March 15 – March 22.  The registration process is again online this year. It’s very important for our school families to register on time as we already have a waitlist for every grade level next year. To be fully registered, you will need to fill out the online application on Gradelink, have it approved by the office, and pay at least ½ of the registration fee.  Be sure to register on time to ensure your children’s place in our wonderful school community!

Please join us every Friday during Lent as our 8th graders walk us through the Living Stations of the Cross.  Stations of the Cross symbolizes our walk with Jesus Christ on His last day on Earth as a man.  This year we will be streaming the Living Stations of the Cross on the school field via our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/straphaelschoolsb).  Stations begin at 11:00 am.

Important Dates:
March 12: Stations of the Cross
March 15-22:  Registration for the 2021-2022 school year.
March 16: Report Cards go home
March 22: Jeans for Jesus

In Mary’s Love,

Ms. Michelle Limb, Principal

Station Ten: Jesus is Stripped of His ClothesStation Eleven: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross Station Twelve: Jesus Dies

They divided Your garments
and cast lots for Your clothes.
Stripped of all dignity,
You had nothing of Your own.
By your despoilment, O Lord,
clothe us in your mercy
which is rich beyond words.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Nailed to the cross,
You know how many feel
who, bound by circumstance,
year by year get nowhere.
By Your riven hands and feet, Lord,
help those fixed to a cross
by long illness or misfortune.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Once the prophet said:
"Who can believe our report?"
God's Servant, crushed in sorrow,
pierced for our offenses!
Shall we not stand watching, Lord,
mourning the sins You bear,
rejoicing in the pardon You bestow?

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
