Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

Last Friday, we had a beautiful reconciliation service for our second graders.  They all had candles that were lit from the Pascal candle reminding them and all of us that the light of Christ dwells within us every day.  Christ is our light and we need to be the light of Christ for others.  We are thankful to Monsignor Jon and Father John Love for their love and compassion for our students during this special Sacrament.

During some personal Lenten reflection time, I read when Jesus told his disciples that Our Father knows all of our needs, and that first and foremost, we must seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.  “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.” What a great message for the beginning of the Lenten journey to remind us that God is in charge and we must put our trust in Him. During this wonderful season, please find ways to remember the wonderful faith-forming experiences and bring those encounters with us as we walk through life with our families, friends, and neighbors.  Please join Bishop Barron’s daily Lenten reflections by signing up at http://www.lentreflections.com

Online registration is now open. Please register online before March 20th. This will allow for a seamless process on registration day.  Use bit.ly/srs2019 to complete the online registration process.  Don’t forget to be a part of the Refer Program and earn $100 off tuition.  Use this link for your referrals: CatholicEd.com/Refer.

Every Friday during Lent, we are selling $5 grilled cheese sandwiches served with fruit and milk, and includes a side of vegetables or a cup of soup.  You can also purchase tortilla chips with homemade salsa for $2.  Please make sure to send your child/ren to school with money for lunch as funds will not come out of your child’s food truck account.  These lunches will help offset the cost of our overnight trips for grades 5-8.  Remember you can always come for a grilled cheese, too!  Lunch is served from 12 - 12:30 pm.

Simeon said to Mary his mother: "This child is destined to be the downfall and the rise of many in Israel, a sign that will be opposed. And you yourself shall be pierced with a sword, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be laid bare." O Mother of my Savior,
you stand beside Your Son.
With love beyond all telling,
you share His grief as one.
How shall I know your sorrow,
your tears beyond compare?
Deep in my heart stand watching,
and call my memory there.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

A man named Simon of Cyrene, was coming in from the fields, and they pressed him into service to carry the Cross.

Simon, coming in from the fields,
was pressed to carry Your cross.
Did he come to know You, Lord,
walking by Your side?
By Your meeting with the Cyrenean,
may we find You in the stranger,
and in the needy we meet.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

He who welcomes You, welcomes me; and he who welcomes me, welcomes Him who sent me. And I promise that whoever gives a cup of cold water will not want for a reward.

A woman named Veronica
kindly washed Your face with a towel.
Such a simple thing!
A towel, a cup of water, a loving word.
By Your meeting with Veronica, Lord,
help us value such small things,
so great when given in Your name.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
