Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,
We had our annual iRaphael Chalk Festival last Friday! The students did an amazing job and everyone still can enjoy the masterpieces on the quad. Take some time to walk around and enjoy!
We will continue with some fun end-of-year activities next week amidst the COVID regulations. In lieu of field day, we are celebrating our students and giving them time to play and be kids on the field. Each class will enjoy an entire hour of unstructured playtime. Play is such an important aspect and can sometimes get pushed aside as we live our overscheduled lives. Play provides a primary foundation for learning, exploring, problem solving, and building an understanding of the world and one’s role within it. It promotes healthy development and critical thinking skills. Play also inspires children to pretend, create, and imagine. Creative, open-ended play helps children conceptualize, brainstorm, and exercise critical thinking skills. We are taking this time next week to acknowledge the importance of play. We hope that you give your children time to disconnect from devices and PLAY on a regular basis!
The first day of school for the 2021-2022 school year will be Wednesday, August 25. It’s hard to believe that we only have three weeks left in the school year. Let’s finish healthy and strong!
May 17: Jeans for Jesus
May 31: No School for Memorial Day
June 4: Last Day of School. Noon Dismissal
August 25: First Day of School for 2021-2022
In Mary’s Love,
Ms. Michelle Limb, Principal
Please pray the Magnificat this week
My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid;
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and Holy is His name;
And His mercy is from generation to generation
on those who fear Him.
He has shown might with His arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent away empty.
He has given help to Israel, his servant, mindful of His mercy
Even as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever.
